Cathy
Heise, RN, BSN, IBCLC, LCCE, FACCE Cathy has been educating
and supporting expectant families in childbirth, parenting
and breastfeeding since 1980. She currently practices as an
Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant at The
Lactation Program, sponsored
by the Colorado Health Foundation in Denver, Colorado. At
the out-patient clinic she provides in-depth assessment and
counseling for breastfeeding mothers and families, shortly
after birth through the breastfeeding experience. She has
made numerous educational presentations to health professionals
on working together to promote successful breastfeeding. Cathy
is a Lamaze® certified childbirth educator and is the
co-director of the Lamaze® International Denver Chapter,
CPAC Childbirth Educator Program. She is Chair of the Lamaze
Contact Hour Review and Approval Committee and is a member
of the Lamaze® International Education Council Governing
Body. Cathy has presented at many Lamaze®International
Conferences and local childbirth seminars on promoting normal
birth and teaching strategies. She continues to teach childbirth
and breastfeeding classes to expectant families

Basics of Cloth Diapering

This class will help you decide if cloth diapering is correct
for you and prepare you to be a pro at using cloth diapers.
We will explain the differences and benefits of various types
of cloth diapers, including pre-folds, fitted, pocket, one-size,
and all-in-ones. You will get a chance to see each type as
well as check out the leading brands of modern cloth diapers
on the market today. We will also discuss how to launder cloth

Lisa
Van Damme is a new mother and "mom-preneur". After
months of researching cloth diapering and testing out many
different brands, Lisa decided to start her own cloth diapering
business to support cloth diapering parents along the Front
Range. Lisa's business, Living Earth Babies, aims to educate
parents about the benefits of cloth diapers and help make
diapering fun. Lisa lives in Boulder and is married to husband
Jeff, mom to Nathan (the cutest baby around) and her 4-legged

EXPECTANT
COUPLE’S 3rd TRIMESTER RELIEF
As you approach your 3rd Trimester, you will realize that
your body needs as much pampering and love as possible. We
are here to help! In this Part 1 workshop, you and your partner
will learn how to relieve the specific, physical tensions
that arise during these last 12 weeks. The partner will learn
how to help relax and release tension for the Mommy-To-Be
by learning a basic sequence of stress-releasing stretches
and massages. Make it a date and come unwind before baby arrives!

a new baby in the home as well as developmentally appropriate
tools to help children process their emotions and promote
sibling bonding and attachment. We will also discuss plans
for older siblings during the birth. Class content is tailored

THE NEW MOTHER IN YOUR LIFE
This workshop, designed for dads, grandmothers, sisters, and
friends of new moms, will provide information for how you
can support the new mom in your life so that she can be the

that differs from “baby blues” will be discussed,

Sections Series The transition to parenthood is a process.
Many believe that the day of childbirth IS the transition

to parenthood is not simply one day. The focus of this workshop
is to discuss the common changes during the transition to
parenthood and to provide participants with tools to use at
home to build a foundation for a strong parenthood relationship.

A Guided Journaling Workshop Research has shown that expressing
emotions through writing can lead to improved physical and
emotional well-being. We will discuss the positive effects
of journal writing, how writing can help you process emotions
related to difficulty conceiving, a difficult pregnancy or
birth experience or the challenges of new motherhood. Participants
will have an opportunity to begin journaling during the workshop
and to share with others if they wish.
